My view on taking surveys

When I first started thinking about making money on the internet I looked into survey-taking. It was quite appealing since no own website or any technical skills are required. I registered with countless sites, filled out numerous forms, revealed details about myself which made me feel rather uncomfortable. Then I waited to get my first invitations to take surveys. When they arrived I was excited and looked forward to a rewarding experience.
I filled in screener after screener only to receive the message, "we are sorry but you do not fall into the target group for this survey" - due to age, gender, occupation, location, whatever.
Whenever I got through to the main questionnaire I often got the feeling that the announced 20 minute completion took much longer, so that in fact the amount of money earned was considerably lower than expected. To summarize, if you consider surveys to be fun and entertaining and if you feel comfortable about revealing private details about yourself it is a pleasant way of earning a little extra pocket money now and then, however, if you want to make money or if you NEED to make money it is a waste of time and effort.
